The Arts Club has an evening gathering place too, The Drawing Room, that is open to members and guests Tuesday-Friday from 5 PM. Join a gathering Thursday, January 25 from 5 PM. Watch this space or ask to be added to our email list to receive invitations for additional gatherings throughout the exhibition. I am eager to share and discuss this project, my vision for a walk-in painting, which I plan to open in Chicago this summer. Let’s schedule a time to view and discuss it together, and how you or your organization can participate. .
About the Maquette
Cordelia Belloc Lowndes, architectural designer and I have been working together to design and build Nos Nymphéas in miniature, so that I might share it at The Arts Club of Chicago’s 91st Exhibition of Visual Artist Members. The maquette is composed of a recent body of paintings (2021-24), photographed, then printed with a giclée process, scaled down from 5 feet high x 5 - 8.5 feet wide to 5 inches high, 5 - 8.5 inches wide, then mounted into curved walls, as though to embrace the viewer. The environment includes furniture on which the viewer might rest.
