A 36” long x 24” wide x 12” high model — or maquette of Nos Nymphéas debuted at The Arts Club of Chicago January 23 - February 21, 2024

It is now available for viewing by appointment in an accessible suite in Streeterville. Let’s schedule a time to view and discuss it together, and how you or your organization can participate.

About the Maquette

Cordelia Belloc Lowndes, architectural designer and I have been working together to design and build Nos Nymphéas in miniature, so that I might share it at The Arts Club of Chicago’s 91st Exhibition of Visual Artist Members. The maquette is composed of a recent body of paintings (2021-24), photographed, then printed with a giclée process, scaled down from 5 feet high x 5 - 8.5 feet wide to 5 inches high, 5 - 8.5 inches wide, then mounted into curved walls, as though to embrace the viewer. The environment includes furniture on which the viewer might rest.

Materials: Photographic prints of recent (2021-4) paintings by Danielle Klinenberg, with cochineal, murex, lapis lazuli, Majorelle blue, indigo, Moroccan dye, mica and African lip stain and watercolor finished with a UV protectant on paper, various adhesives, clay, wood, metal, plaster, velvet, found Great Lakes rocks, MDF and plexiglass.

Special thanks to: Bill Dougherty, Cesar Luevano for his support on the figures, Christian and Halyle at Loupe Printing, Erin Graft Mazzeffi at Nimble Bee, Noah Karapanagiotidis, Adam Mikos and Mia Morettini at The Arts Club of Chicago.
