My story with Paris, and France, started long ago, before I was born. It is why I am named ‘Danielle’. It is part of why I grew up saturated in art. I wear it like jewelry, and it grounds me in a similar way. I’ll be back to share more.

This morning we arrived in Paris. This trip, to go to Paris ‘as soon as it (was) safe’ is a plan of my daughter, now 6. We are staying at the home of dear family friends, where I first arrived in Paris at her age. It is also where my husband, her dad, met me 8 years ago. That summer I was painting on a residency in the Loire Valley. He flew to France and proposed. The proposal took place between the Jardin du Luxembourg, St Chapelle, Chartres, and all over the val du Loire.
